Thank you for visiting CONTACT the Crisis Line’s IM-IN-CRISIS.ORG chat site. We are committed to the privacy of our visitors. We collect no personal information about you when you visit our Web site unless you choose to provide that information to us. You may use IM-IN-CRISIS without identifying yourself or revealing any personal information unless you choose to do so. Chat Specialists on IM-IN-CRISIS do not provide treatment. The Specialists will only provide information on services, guidance and assistance, and helpful online resources via IM-IN-CRISIS. If the Chat Specialist with whom you are chatting decides that you are a danger to yourself and intervention is needed, we will ask you to provide information where we may send help to you. However, even at this time, you do not have to provide that information.
If you are in suicidal crisis or emotional distress and the chat service is not available, or “offline,” please call CONTACT the Crisis Line at 601-713-HELP (4357). If you or someone you know is currently in imminent danger or in the act of harming themselves, please call 9-1-1 for immediate assistance.
Automatically Collected and Stored Information
If you do nothing during your visit but log on to the website, we will gather and store certain information about your visit automatically. This information does not identify you personally. We automatically collect and store information, similar to the following, concerning your visit: The Internet domain (for example, “xcompany.com” if you use a private Internet access account or “yourschool.edu” if you connect from a university’s domain); the type of browser and operating system used to access our site; the date and time you accessed our site; and if you linked to our Web site from another Web site, the address of that Web site. We use this information to help us make our site more useful to visitors, to learn about the number of visitors to our site, and the types of technology our visitors use. We do not automatically track or record personally-identifiable information about our visitors.
Voluntarily Provided Information by the Caller
We do not collect personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily provide it to us. If you provide your telephone number this information will be stored by the hotline and applicable to the hotline’s procedures regarding confidentiality.

Interaction with Children
We are unable to chat with child visitors under the age of 13. Those under the age of 13 are welcome to call CONTACT the Crisis Line at 601-713-HELP (4357) where Crisis Counselors are available 24/7.
No personally identifiable information is collected from child visitors unless voluntarily submitted as a request for information or services. The information supplied is used to respond to the user’s inquiries or to provide age-appropriate services requested by the user.

We are committed to making our website accessible to all visitors and staff in accordance with provisions of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act Amendments of 1998.
AGREEMENT
By entering this site, you expressly acknowledge that IM-IN-CRISIS is not responsible for any personal information which you may enter over the Internet during transmission. Despite our efforts to protect your information some level of risk when communicating over the Internet is always present. Because your participation in IM-IN-CRISIS is not medical care or treatment, IM-IN-CRISIS is not responsible for any decisions or results of the decisions that you make while, as a result of, or after participating in IM-IN-CRISIS. This includes whether you choose to seek or not to seek professional medical or psychiatric care, or to modify or terminate specific treatment that you are currently receiving based on the information provided by this service. You also expressly acknowledge that if the Chat Specialist concludes that you may harm yourself, the specialist will request your telephone number or address so that CONTACT the Crisis Line can attempt to provide you with additional support and assistance. As a visitor, you may refuse to provide information to the Chat Specialist and CONTACT the Crisis Line will not be able to attempt to contact you to offer you additional support and assistance.
